Many men around the world wish they had a thick, full beard or mustache. However, some men either completely lack beards and mustaches or hair growth on parts of their face is not as good as other parts. This can directly affect their self-esteem and relationships. Many people believe that a full beard can be a symbol of men's power and intelligence. Throughout life, many men may lose their beards or mustaches in various situations for various reasons, including infection, surgery, trauma, scarring, burns or genetics. Therefore, they are a good candidate for beard or mustache transplantation. Also, anyone who wants to have a thicker and denser beard can use this technique. The transplanted hair is permanent and looks quite natural like other facial hair. After a while, they begin to grow, and you can shave them like other natural hair.
The doctor will take the patient's medical history and request the necessary tests. Patients should stop smoking for 3-5 days before surgery. Smoking adversely affects blood flow and can delay the recovery process. Patients should also not drink alcohol for at least 3 days before a beard or mustache transplant. Some medicines such as aspirin, Plavix, dabigatran, Warfarin, Rivaroxaban and any anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen or Celecoxib should be informed to the physician. Also, supplements such as Gingko Biloba, omega-3, fish oil, and vitamin B&E should not be taken because of the increased risk of post-operative bleeding.
